Post-buckling of an elastic half-space coated by double layers

We investigate the buckling and post-buckling properties of a hyperelastic half-space coated by two layers when composite structure is subjected to uniaxial compression. In case with single layer, it known that shear modulus [Formula: see text] layer larger than half-space, linear analysis predicts existence critical stretch wave number, whereas weakly nonlinear threshold value ratio below which super-critical above sub-critical. It shown another added, variety behaviour can be observed. For instance, occur at preferred wavenumber super-critically even if both are softer although top would need harder bottom layer. When lies in certain interval, sub-critical transition happen number times as increased gradually. Thus, an extra imparts more flexibility producing wrinkling patterns desired properties, our provides road map on parameter regimes where this achieved.
